Sock School Two

Two Socks on One Circular Needle, Toe Up

with Venessa Bentley of Working Hands Fibre Arts Studio

 4 Thursday evenings: January 17, 24, 31, February 7, 2019

6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Are you a sock knitter who will do anything to avoid the Kitchener Stitch?  Perhaps you have a hard time getting around to that second sock. This 4 week sock program might work for you. You’ll begin in Week One by casting on, and knitting the toes of both socks.

You’ll learn to knit socks that fit beautifully as you knit along the feet, and shape the heels. Before you know it, you’ll be casting off at the cuffs in Week 4 – two socks finished at the same time!

If you would prefer to knit a pair of children’s socks during the 4 weeks, you are welcome. Patterns for both will be provided.  You will learn the techniques needed to knit a larger pair for yourself as well. This class is suitable for those who are comfortable knitting in the round, and who have knit socks from the cuff down.

Venessa’s detailed instructional pattern and extensive notes are included in the class fee. If you attended Sock School One, please bring along your binder.

New students will receive a binder in this session.

You will need:

a circular needle, 2.25 or 2.5 mm, at least 80 cm (32”) long

Chiao Goo Red Lace or Hiya Hiya Sharps are recommended

420 metres of fingering weight sock yarn for an adult pair, approximately 200 metres for a children's pair

a set of wooden double pointed needles the same size as your circular needle

your knitting accessory kit
