100% pure New Zealand Wool, the wool for this yarn is grown on sheep farms around New Zealand and yarn spun in a small boutique mill in Hawkes Bay. This semi worsted yarn is a blend of Corriedale and Perendale especially designed for softness and strength. It is lofty and bulky and ideal for knitting, weaving and knit/felt garments, accessories and projects.

3 Ply, Light Fingering, 4540 metres, 4960 yds, 1 kg (2.2 lbs), wpi 20, needle size 2.75-3.25, tension 4"/1- cm = 30-32 sts, 40 rows. Weaving sett 10-16 epi.

8 ply, DK, 2000 metres, 2180 yds, 1 kg (2.2 lbs), wpi 11, needle size 4.5-5 mm, tension 4"/10 cm - 18-22 sts, 20 rows. Weaving sett 8-10 epi. 

12 ply, Bulky, 1340 metres, 1460 yds, 1 kg (2.2 lbs), wpi 8, needle size 5-5.5 mm, tension 4"/10 cm 17-19 sts, 22 rows. Weaving sett 4-8 epi. 

The yarn is named after the beautiful Lake Tekapo, just 90 minutes south west of Ashburton. The lake, ringed by snowcapped Southern Alps and glaciers is famous for its bright turquoise colour caused by its suspended glacial dust. In 1857 one of the first sheep stations in the New Zealand was established on its shore.
