Open It Up! Steeking the Humulus Sweater

Converting a beautiful colour work pullover design into a steeked cardigan can increase its wearability, and make it a more flexible piece in your wardrobe.  Making this happen involves only a few manageable changes.

During this 6 session program students will work through the process of knitting a top down steeked cardigan using Isabell Kraemer’s Humulus pullover pattern. Classes will be spaced apart to allow enough time for an enjoyable knitting schedule with worsted weight yarn.

Venessa is knitting her cardigan in Harrisville Highland Wool, and we are recommending that you work with this Shetland-style, woolen-spun, toothy wool, to ensure gorgeous colour work and a successful steeking experience.  Please allow some time to shop for this yarn at least 2 - 3 weeks before the class starts,

so that your yarn will arrive in time.  We have some colours in stock, and will order the rest. You will need a base colour and one other (or create your own colour palette).

It is a practical and stylin’ project in every way!

Venessa will contact you about supplies.  Please purchase the pattern on ravelry here.
