Knitting a Classic Cardigan from the Top Down

$150.00

Knitting a Classic Cardigan from the Top Down

with Venessa Bentley of Working Hands Fibre Arts Studio

Thursday eveningsOctober 25, November 8, 22, and December 6. 6-8:30 pm.

Knitting garments from the top down is the best way to leap into a project when you are excited to get that Fall project on your needles. We thought this beautiful classic by Orlane Sucche would be a great follow-up to our recent Top Down Baby Jacket program.  The steps are the same, with all the lovely big people touches. You’ll have some beautiful DK weight yarn to choose from at the shop.

If you are a beginner knitter with good basic skills, or an intermediate knitter who would like to focus on top down techniques, and those beautiful finishes, this program may interest you.

The classes are spaced out to allow for knitting time. If necessary, we’ll schedule an optional 5th class for early in the new year to finish things off.

The beauty of this simple classic design is the gentle knitting that happens in between the pretty details. It’s a perfect project to have on-the-go to grab when you need a peaceful moment during a busy season!

You will

knit from the top down seamlessly

knit raglan shaping

set in the pockets

work chain stitch details

pick up for the button bands, collar, and pocket hems

shape the collar with short rows

receive a binder for your pattern, and notes each week

Please contact the shop to inquire about this relaxing and cozy knitting program. We’ll be happy to help you shop for your needles and yarn. The pattern can be purchased on Ravelry.
